Rudeboy is a subculture originating from Jamaica in the 1960s, but its always known for its revival in England around the 1970s. With the revival, came terms such as 'rude boy' or 'rude girl', as well as other variations such as 'rudebwoy', mainly used to describe fans of 2tone and ska. This subculture's revival was partiall the result of Jamaican immigrates in the UK, and "Windrush" generation. These terms moved to be used into the Ska Punk movement as well.

Around the 1960s, the Jamican diaspora introduced rude boy fashion and music into the UK, influencing the modernist and skinhead subcultures. In the 1970s, the terms came into use once more after the 2tone band The Specials, most notably with a cover of 'A Message To You Rudy', started a influential ska revival. The Clash as well with 'Rudie Can't Fail', and The Ruts with 'Staring at the Rude Boys'. The Rudeboy subculture is associated with music genres such as Ska, Uk Garage, Grime, Ragga, and Ska Punk bands.
